Geographic Information System (GIS) software is what powers Waze and Google maps, but it is so much more! GIS represents data visually, analyzing trends and patterns, identifying problems and posing solutions. Where do we need to build hospitals? Is my political district gerrymandered? What parts of the world are most vulnerable to the effects of climate change? GIS helps find answers to these questions; this session will give some ideas on how to use this technology in the classroom!
